History
The private hospital IASIS - GAVRILAKIS SA GENERAL CLINIC is a model Diagnostic - Therapeutic - Surgical & Research Centre located in the city of Chania. Iasis meets the local community's essential needs in primary and secondary healthcare.
It was established in 1977 by the Company's Chairman, Dr. Ilias Gavrilakis. Until 1992 it operated as an Obstetrics-Gynaecology clinic. In 1993 the existing facilities were expanded and the hospital became a General Clinic. During 2002-2004 the hospital was expanded to an adjacent plot where a new, 2,500m2 wing was constructed and, together with the original building, formed a single modern architectural and functional structure covering an area of 4,000 m2.
Today, Iasis Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and is a model Diagnostic-Therapeutic-Surgical & Research Centre with a capacity of 80 beds. In addition to the permanent medical, nursing, administrative, auxiliary and technical staff, Iasis also cooperates with more than 120 physicians from all specialities and ranks, thus meeting the needs of the local community in primary and secondary healthcare and ensuring high-quality healthcare services.
