The Pathology Department at Iasis Hospital deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases within Internal Medicine. It provides high-quality services to inpatients, and outpatients, based on the experience and continuous training of its human resources. The scientific work of the clinical departments is supported by the Diagnostic and Imaging Laboratories of the Hospital that operate around the clock.

As regards the specialty of Pathology and its sub-specialities, the Hospital operates outpatient clinics for patients not requiring admission and whose cases can be treated on an outpatient basis.

The Cardiology Department at IASIS Hospital is one of the most modern centres in preventive, diagnostic and clinical cardiology in Crete. The department's aim is the prevention of cardiovascular disease, early diagnosis, thorough investigation and responsible treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease, in line with international standards. The equipment and specialised medical and nursing staff guarantee high diagnostic value and safety.

The Cardiology Clinic/Laboratory performs bloodless tests on the cardiovascular system with electrocardiograms, Echocardiograms (heart triplex), fatigue tests on a treadmill, fatigue ultrasound after administration of dobutamine (Stress Echo), 24-hour recording of blood pressure and rhythm (Holter).

The Cardiology Clinic is staffed by experienced cardiologists and skilled nursing staff and meets all cardiology-related needs around the clock. It can treat patients with severe heart failure, coronary disease, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease in adults.

The Cardiology Department includes the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory for full investigation and invasive intervention. It is equipped with a modern digital coronary angiogram system (Axiom Artis FC by Siemens) and is staffed by experienced interventional cardiologists trained abroad.The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory performs modern cardiology diagnostic and interventional tests, such as coronary angiograms and angioplasty of coronary and peripheral arteries (by placing stents).
