Digital Mammography Laboratory
The mammogram is another application of diagnostic X-ray for the imaging of the morphology, structure and pathology of breast lesions. It plays a key role in the early detection of breast cancer as it can show changes in the morphology of the breast at a preclinical stage, when tumour size is very small and its palpation is not possible.
The Mammography Laboratory at IASIS is equipped with modern digital systems by GE, which guarantee accurate imaging information, with the lowest possible radiation.
The Laboratory is supported by the MRI department, which performs MR Mammograms, supplementing breast examination and providing additional information for the diagnosis of neoplasms.
The diagnosis of mammograms is performed by an experienced physician - a radiologist specialised exclusively in the breast.
